Overview:
In this Field Claims Representative position within the Property unit, you will be responsible for handling property damage claims in the field meeting service standards when settling claims and investigating losses. Previous insurance experience is not required for this role and full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:•Primarily work in the field, attending property damage claims, assessing the damage and writing estimates
•Investigate property claims in a timely and respectful manner through communication with the customer, appraisers, adjusters and any other related parties
•Develop an action plan for conducting investigations
•Travel throughout Western Canada, responding to large loss events due to natural disasters – assess coverage and damage; negotiate settlements with Intact customers
•Office work includes: receiving customer phone calls and contacting them to update on claim status and outcomes, reviewing reports
•Maintain current knowledge of insurance products as well as appraisal or investigation techniques and services
Requirements:•Previous experience using estimating software is an asset (Xactimate/ Vale)
•Construction knowledge and experience
•Personable and great dealing with people, in person and on the phone
•Ability to be extremely organized in a fast paced work environment
•Able-bodied, with no restrictions to participate in work of a physical nature
•Valid drivers licence and the ability for frequent travel
•Comfortable knowing this is not a 9-5 job, and you will be required to adjust your schedule or work overtime if needed
•A genuine interest in learning the exciting world of insurance claims adjusting
